WATER & AIR SOURCE
The SCS Group can provide both commercial and domestic air source and water source heat pumps, along with all the expertise and backup to setup and maintain these eco friendly systems.
Air Source basics
Air source heat pumps can be used to provide heat and hot water for buildings. The units are placed outside a building they draw in air which flows over a heat exchanger containing refrigerant. The latent heat from the air is used to turn the refrigerant into a gas which is compressed raising the temperature the heat is then extracted.
Water Source basics
Water source pumps work in a very similar way to air source systems taking advantage of the consistent temperatures found in water. Pipes are submerged in a water source where the fluid pumped through them can absorb heat from the water which flows over a heat exchanger containing refrigerant. The latent heat from the air is used to turn the refrigerant into a gas which is compressed raising the temperature the heat is then extracted.
